Developing the Horse

Ashley is Level 1 Trained in Natural Lifemanship. Natural Lifemanship uses science-based techniques and practices that have proved to be very successful when training horses. Natural Lifemanship is a gentle approach, yet highly effective. It is not like any other relationship-based training. Natural Lifemanship believes all horses are capable of making correct decisions. Ashleys goal is to develop the horse in a way that teaches them how to safely think for themselves and not just be told what to do and do it out of fear. It is a trust-based relationship that is built, and the same principles apply to every relationship in your life. A good principle is only good when it can be applied anywhere!  Natural Lifemanship Training ultimately creates beautiful, healthy, connected relationships and partnerships between horse and rider. It is listening and also being heard. It is respecting and also being respected. It is giving choices and allowing the horse to think and process on their own. It is scientifically creating NEW pathways in the brain instead of instinctively operating out of fight or flight mode.

Horse Training

She gentles foals and has a passion for starting young horses. Her favorite part about starting young horses and working with babies is that she gets to lay the proper foundation. And let me tell you, all her clients have been exceptionally pleased with what their babies know and are capable of at such a young age.

Ashley main focus is partnership and healthy relationships. That includes the relationship between clients and their personal horses. Her vision from the beginning was to have stalls built at the farm specifically for train and board so she can work closely with clients and their horses.

Train and Board

At the start of 2024 Ashley is proud to announce that they will have 2 stalls dedicated for client horses. The benefit of train and board, is to train and work the owners horse personally but also work with the horse and owner together, coaching them as they work out the kinks in their relationship with one another.

In her professional opinion, a horse trainer can do all they can and teach a horse how to respond correctly to cues, but once they hand the reins over to a different rider or send them back to their original owner, unless the horse understands the cues the rider is asking and if the cues are not the same, the training will be unsuccessful. To eliminate this miss communication between the rider and their horse Ashley offers Train and Board that incorporates 1 lesson a week in the monthly fee so she can focus on working directly with the client and their horse.

Her intention is partnership.
